Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is set to make her West End debut, stepping onto the London stage in a new production of Romeo & Juliet. The casting marks a significant milestone in Sink’s career as she transitions from screen to theatre. Directed by acclaimed playwright and director Robert Icke, the production is expected to offer a bold reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy and attract strong audience interest upon its highly anticipated opening this season.

The Netflix and Broadway favourite will share the stage with Noah Jupe, widely recognised for his role in A Quiet Place.
Sadie Sink, best known for Stranger Things, is preparing to step onto the West End stage for the first time when she arrives in London next spring.
Her breakout came in 2017 with her portrayal of Max Mayfield in Netflix’s global phenomenon, where she starred alongside Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, and Caleb McLaughlin.
Next March, Sink will appear at the Harold Pinter Theatre in Robert Icke’s fresh take on Romeo & Juliet, performing opposite Noah Jupe, whose screen credits include A Quiet Place and Honey Boy.
The production marks a return to theatre roots for Sink, who began her career as a child performer on Broadway in Annie. Earlier this year, she earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play for her role in John Proctor Is the Villain.
Reflecting on her upcoming West End debut, Sink described it as a long-held ambition shaped by her Broadway upbringing. She called the chance to perform Shakespeare under Icke’s direction, alongside Jupe, an exhilarating challenge and praised the unique energy of London theatre.
Icke, celebrated for his striking reimaginings of classic works, recently saw his Olivier Award–winning Oedipus, starring Mark Strong and Lesley Manville, make the leap to Broadway.
Speaking about the new production, Icke said Romeo & Juliet is a play he continually returns to, describing it as urgent, volatile, and deeply alive, and expressed excitement about bringing it to London with two emerging stars.
The production will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 16 March to 6 June 2026.
Sink will also return to screens in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, with the first four episodes released on 27 November, followed by three episodes on Boxing Day and the series finale on New Year’s Day.
