Revo Air Taxis Launch Order Rush at Paris Air Show

Revo, a leading player in the emerging air taxi sector, has sparked a wave of activity at the Paris Air Show by launching a major order campaign. The move marks a significant milestone for the company as it announces new partnerships and secures multiple aircraft orders. This initiative highlights the growing global interest in urban air mobility and positions Revo at the forefront of innovation in sustainable and efficient short-distance air travel solutions.

The 2025 Paris Air Show opened with a landmark deal on Sunday as Brazil-based Revo signed a definitive agreement to operate air taxi services in São Paulo using 50 eVTOL aircraft from Eve Air Mobility. Revo, which spun off from helicopter operator Omni, plans to begin with the first 10 aircraft deliveries in late 2027 and expand from there as its services scale.

This agreement is expected to be the first of over 1,000 commercial aircraft orders anticipated during the week at Le Bourget. Analysts from Jefferies project that airlines such as IndiGo, Riyadh Air, Cathay Pacific, LOT Polish Airlines, and Turkish Airlines will make significant contributions to this total. However, Air India’s expected order of 200 narrowbody and 40 widebody jets is now uncertain following a recent fatal crash involving one of its Boeing 787s in Ahmedabad.

At a Sunday event, Eve Air Mobility’s CEO Johann Bordais unveiled updates to its eVTOL aircraft design. These enhancements include quieter, more efficient four-blade propellers, lightweight Recaro cabin seats, a new cockpit interface with a four-axis sidestick co-developed with Garmin and Crouzet, and an option for wheeled landing gear to replace traditional skids.

Revo CEO João Welsh shared that his team has spent the past five years exploring how to implement air taxi networks in São Paulo, a city already known for heavy helicopter usage. He highlighted that the eVTOLs will cut travel times dramatically, turning two-hour car trips into 20-minute flights, connecting urban hubs and airports more efficiently.

Eve, a subsidiary of Embraer, now claims provisional sales commitments worth $14 billion. The company released a market forecast on Sunday, projecting that 30,000 eVTOLs will be operating commercially by 2045, transporting an estimated three billion passengers and generating $280 billion in revenue over the next two decades.

The market study draws from United Nations urban population data, analyzing 1,800 cities, 1,000 airports, and 27,000 active civil helicopters. Eve forecasts that by 2035, over 800 cities will each house more than one million residents, collectively representing 2.5 billion people, making them prime candidates for urban air mobility services.

Bordais emphasized that Eve’s efforts have gone beyond engineering, involving collaborative business planning with clients. The aircraft is designed for trips of up to 150 kilometers, with most use cases centered on intra-city connections, emergency medical services, and airport transfers.

To support its launch strategy, Eve has conducted trial operations with helicopter operators in cities like Chicago and Rio de Janeiro to establish a working model for urban eVTOL deployment. In São Paulo alone, with 780 helicopters and 170 helipads, existing infrastructure can be adapted to accommodate these new aircraft.

Eve expects North America and the Middle East to lead in adopting air taxi services, while Europe may lag due to regulatory barriers. In Africa, demand is projected to rise in regions where traditional infrastructure is limited.

To strengthen operator support, Eve recently introduced its TechCare program for after-sales service. The company also provides Vector, a comprehensive air traffic management solution designed to handle the complexities of urban eVTOL operations.
