Dubai Hosts Global World Safety Summit Launch

Dubai has officially launched the Global World Safety Summit, bringing together international leaders, policymakers, security experts, and innovators to address pressing global safety challenges. The summit focuses on enhancing international cooperation, advancing safety technologies, strengthening emergency preparedness, and sharing best practices across sectors. By hosting the event, Dubai reinforces its role as a global hub for dialogue on security, resilience, and future-ready safety solutions in an increasingly complex world.

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, marked the opening of the World Safety Summit 2026, an event spearheaded by Dubai Civil Defence.

The summit has drawn a truly global audience, welcoming delegates from 64 countries alongside representatives from 31 prominent international fire and safety organisations. During his visit, Sheikh Mansoor examined the progress of the One Billion Readiness Initiative, introduced in Dubai last year, which has already reached 500 million people across 64 cities through 68 multilingual awareness drives.

The programme is designed to strengthen fire prevention efforts, accelerate emergency response times, and safeguard both lives and property.

As part of the ceremony, Sheikh Mansoor presented the Global Impact Award for Community Safety to distinguished organisations, including the International Association of Fire and Rescue Services, Fire Aid, and the National Fire Protection Association.

He reiterated Dubai’s long-term commitment to elevating global safety standards and enhancing preparedness at the community level. Lieutenant General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defence, noted that the summit underscores Dubai’s focus on international collaboration and forward-thinking innovation.

He highlighted the One Billion Readiness Initiative as a trailblazing model that is reshaping global safety awareness and community resilience.

Delegates, in turn, commended Dubai for its leadership in delivering high-impact safety programmes and setting new global benchmarks for best practices.
