45 Turkish Construction Firms Listed in World's Top 250 Contractors

Turkey has strengthened its global presence in the construction industry, with 45 of its firms ranked among the world’s top 250 international contractors, according to the latest ENR list. This marks an increase from last year and highlights the country’s expanding influence in major global infrastructure and development projects. Eight Turkish companies also made it into the top 100, showcasing the sector’s resilience, competitiveness, and growing expertise on the international stage.

A total of 45 Turkish construction companies have been featured in the latest edition of Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine’s Top 250 International Contractors, as announced by the Turkish Trade Ministry.

These firms, operating in various parts of the globe, have earned recognition among the industry's leading international players. The Trade Ministry noted that the count of Turkish companies on the list increased from 43 last year to 45 this year.

According to the ministry's announcement, China leads the rankings with 76 firms, while Türkiye follows in second place with 45. Last year, the combined value of overseas projects undertaken by these Turkish firms amounted to $20.8 billion. With their global project contributions, Turkish contractors accounted for 4.2% of the total contract value, positioning the country ninth overall, surpassing nations like the Netherlands, Sweden, and Germany.

Chinese firms secured the top spot with an overall international project value of $127.4 billion. The Turkish Trade Ministry also highlighted that eight of the country's firms were included in the top 100 of the 2025 rankings. It was also mentioned that despite challenges such as political instability and increasing labor and land expenses, the total international project value for the top 250 contractors grew modestly by 0.5%, reaching $501.2 billion.

Since 1972, Turkish contractors have completed 12,641 projects in 137 countries, with a total value exceeding $544.9 billion. The ministry emphasized ongoing efforts to boost the industry through bilateral agreements and trade missions in key markets like Libya, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, as well as ambitions to contribute to reconstruction initiatives in Ukraine and Syria.

Additionally, eight Turkish engineering firms earned placements on ENR magazine’s Top 225 International Design Firms list.
