Tragically, within seconds, she was fatally shot and left slumped in her chair, blood spreading across the desk as the livestream continued. The broadcast ended only when another individual picked up the phone, briefly revealing their face on camera.

Officials from Jalisco’s Attorney General’s office reported that Marquez was killed by a man who entered her salon, and the case is being investigated as a possible femicide, an act of violence against a woman motivated by gender.
