Xiaomi is building momentum ahead of the anticipated May 21 unveiling of its upcoming 17 Max smartphone, which has now reportedly surfaced on Geekbench. Shared by well-known tipster Abhishek Yadav, the benchmark listing hints at top-tier flagship performance while shedding light on several of the device’s expected hardware upgrades. Xiaomi has already teased a massive display, an advanced Leica-powered camera setup, and an ultra-large battery, positioning the 17 Max as a premium addition to the expanding Xiaomi 17 lineup.
Fresh details from the benchmark leak suggest the smartphone could deliver powerful next-generation performance. The device, reportedly carrying the model number 2605EPN8EC, achieved more than 3,750 points in single-core testing and crossed 11,000 points in multi-core performance on Geekbench. The listing further indicates the phone may run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor paired with an Adreno 840 GPU, alongside fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage for smoother multitasking and faster data speeds.
Xiaomi has also confirmed that the handset will feature a large 6.9-inch flat SuperPixel display. Additional leaks suggest the rear camera module could include a 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera capable of 3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, the device is also tipped to feature a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Xiaomi 17 Max is further rumored to support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Reports also point toward premium features such as an IP68-rated build, metal frame, dual stereo speakers, X-axis linear motor, NFC, IR blaster, and a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options are expected to include USB 3.2 Gen 1, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
